Google and Nixle Team Up For Public Safety Alerts

Google expanded its emergency alert system on Google Maps, Search, and Google Now, displaying alerts from police agencies across the U.S. The new data comes courtesy of Nixle, a San Francisco based startup that makes a mobile emergency alert system for 6,500 police agencies nationwide.
